North Carolina Satin Funeral Ribbon Quilt

Pre-1950s North Carolina funeral ribbon quilt. There aren't too many examples of these incredible pieces of mourning artistry out there. Traditionally, ribbons adorning gift baskets and floral arrangements for the deceased would be collected and sewn into a quilt to present to the surviving family as a memorial keepsake. 

This one is made from high-quality satin ribbons in a muted pastel colorway. Entirely hand-sewn and quilted, this piece was undoubtedly a labor of tremendous love and comfort.
